Running made me break up with swimming and me hooked on cycling.

If you have been here before and read some of my posts, you probably know the story. Here is the short version: I started competitive swimming at 5. I also started competing in running when I was 9 or so. When I was 11, my swimming coach told me to pick swimming or running. I was not going to not run anymore, found out triathlon was a thing and got a road bike. Why give up something you love when you can get a bike?

After I stopped racing, running was always the thing I gravitated towards, even when my body was having non of it.

While my coaching background started with swimming, I did all my university coaching practicums coaching track and cross country running and have coached countless runners since, from 800m to 100 mile events (and of course, as part of triathlon events).

I used to coach running workshops and do run analysis sessions years ago, but somewhere along the way, my focus shifted... Until now. I am excited to introduce a running analysis service!

Here are the details.

Run Performance Checkup or Tracker

The run performance checkup includes:

  • Consultation so we can tailor the session to your goals and needs
  • Customized run session, where we will gather data using Runeasi. You'll be running outdoors
  • Data analysis and an action plan to incorporate the data into your training plan

The run performance tracker is the same, but this offer includes 3 sessions - Initial session, then 2 additional sessions every 6-8 weeks to track progress.

My education background and work experience blend coaching and sport science, and this is how I am approaching this service - From a coaching point of view. While injury prevention is always important, the focus is more on helping you get faster and improve your efficiency and durability.

Runeasi is a biomechanics sensor used to track the acceleration of your body’s center of mass (middle, lower back). The main metrics measured are dynamic stability, impact loading and symmetry.

The data collected is translated into training sessions, cues, pacing strategies, and more, seamlessly integrating into your training plan. It can also provide valuable information to take to your physio or strength training professional, as I believe in an integrated approach.
